It’s time to swap your booties for sandals, your pants for shorts and your coat for new swimsuits! Pack your bags and keep them handy. We’ve been to Club Voyages Guertin at Les Promenades Gatineau, and they’ve revealed their best kept secrets to us. Warning! With the following advice and info, there’s a good chance you’ll soon be taking off for one of our favourite destinations!
LAST MINUTE RESERVATIONS? NOT ANY MORE
In the last few years, we’ve heard over and over that it pays to wait until the last minute to reserve your all-inclusive package or plane tickets. Well, things have changed.
Whether you want an all-inclusive trip to the Caribbean or you’d rather fly to Europe next summer, we strongly advise you to think about it sooner rather than later. It’s now cheaper to purchase your ticket (or package) a few months before your trip, as fares can increase afterwards.
The good news: wholesalers like Club Voyages Guertin now offer a price guarantee. This means that if the cost of your plane fare or package drops before your departure, they’ll give you a travel credit you can use for your next vacation!
That’s not hard to take!
CAYO CRUZ: THIS YEAR’S NEW SUN DESTINATION
If you’ve already visited the popular Cayo Coco, Holguin and Varadero, you’ll be pleased to know that there’s a new sun destination in Cuba! Ladies and gentlemen, meet Cayo Cruz! Located off the northern coast of Cuba, Cayo Cruz is part of the same archipelago as many other island paradises, like Cayo Santa Maria. Spanning some 30 square kilometres, it’s known for its magnificent white sand beaches, sport fishing trips and near-perfect temperatures all year long.
Grab your one-piece swimsuit, straw hat and tunic. That’s all you’ll need for a getaway to Cayo Cruz!
TWO NEW CONNECTIONS FROM OTTAWA: LOS CABOS AND MAZATLÁN
Yes, you read that right. You can add two new direct connections from Ottawa to your list, Los Cabos and Mazatlán (Mexico).
If you’ve never been to Los Cabos, check it out on Google. Basically, it’s turquoise water, white sand, desert vegetation, a rich culture and grey whales. Get out your waterproof phone case because, believe it or not, you can swim there with gigantic grey whales. Sounds good! Located in the state of Baja California Sur, between the Gulf of California and the Pacific Ocean, Los Cabos is just heavenly!
Mazatlán, called the Pearl of Mexico, is a little further south, right near Puerto Vallarta. It’s known for its rich marine life, food, architecture and beaches, so we were pretty happy to find out you can fly there straight from Ottawa.
A SCANDINAVIAN CRUISE? IT’S NEVER BEEN SO EASY
If you’ve dreamed of taking a Scandinavian or Russian cruise, you’ll be pleased to hear about THE news in the travel world. Ready? Air Transat has just announced that starting in spring 2020, it will be offering Montreal–Copenhagen flights. This means two things: 1) cruises along the fabulous Scandinavian coastline will be more accessible, and 2) they’ll also be cheaper.
