Being stylish at 30 below is not always easy. Here are some tips to feel attractive and comfortable too.
TURTLENECKS
Turtlenecks are a fashion must this year. And January is just the time to wear one. Make sure the colour favours your complexion because it will be right next to your face… Match it with a skirt to be super feminine! (And yes, wear it UNDER your skirt…)
Put a fur collar on a shirt, a round neck sweater (or a turtleneck, for that matter) or even a jean jacket and, boom, you’re looking better than ever!
LONG SLEEVELESS JACKETS
They’ve been everywhere for a year and serve as an excellent alternative to a blazer while keeping you warm. To cover your arms, go for a slimmish, silky top.
SLEEVELESS FUR (OR FAUX FUR) JACKETS
A combination of the last two tips… Real chalet style!
WOOL SWEATERS
For a stylish wool sweater, you have to choose one that goes with your figure.
Small: Make it snug and fairly short. And why not make it a print?
Large: You’ll be pleased with a boyfriend sweater. Fairly roomy, with raglan sleeves, hip pockets… and a nice pair of booties!
Roundish: Go for a bias cut, in other words, a jacket that falls in a V shape to the hip and is a bit shorter in the back. Choose a light knit that wears well…
PONCHOS
The fashion item to replace a jacket. Leave it on the back of your chair at work. You can wear it just as easily over a suit as over a T-shirt. You can even belt it over a shirt…
SHOPPING TIP
January, when the sales are on, is the ideal time to get yourself that jacket or sweater in cashmere, a soft and luxurious — but also pricy — wool.
If your skin reacts to cashmere, go for something acrylic.
But know that it’s definitely not as warm as wool and that your purchase will “pill” by spring…
